What is Whiskey Pepper?

Whiskey pepper is a fantastic pepper variety for preparing upscale meals at your home! Whiskey pepper is uniquely created when the black Malabar pepper is combined with whiskey. This leads to a unique and new flavor experience.

Whiskey pepper is made in Germany, where the peppercorns enjoy a satisfying soak in single malt whisky. Through the process, they are converted into a delectable taste experience. The renowned whiskey is a magnificent rye distillate whose roots mainly reside in the Anglo-Saxon region. Our Whiskey pepper will be a fantastic addition to any gourmet chef’s toolbox due to its original and outstanding taste.

What is Whiskey?

Let’s talk a bit about whiskey itself; as it gives such a fantastic taste to the Malabar black pepper, it is only fair to introduce the drink.

Whiskey is a distilled liquor with an amber color derived from fermented grain (often rye, wheat, corn, or barley). Before bottling, most whiskeys are matured in hardwood casks and have at least 40% alcohol by volume (ABV). Numerous different whiskey varieties are typically identified by their country of origin, type of grain, method of blending, or the aging process. Although the taste of each variety of whiskey varies, the spirit is frequently referred to as smooth, peppery, sweet, caramelly, or toasted.

The most widely known whiskey types are:

  • Scotch from Scotland
  • Bourbon from the US
  • Irish Whiskey from Ireland
  • Canadian Whiskey from Canada
  • Japanese Whiskey from Japan
  • Rye Whiskey (peppery)
  • Blended whiskey (a mix of different whiskeys)

What does Whiskey Pepper taste like?

Making Whiskey pepper gives the otherwise dull and regularly-tasting black pepper a new savor.

After soaking in the superb single malt whisky for a few days, the black Malabar pepper loses part of its sting. A completely fresh and distinctive flavor experience then emerges. After being soaked in single malt, the pepper absorbs 2% of the alcohol and takes on new aromas.

As the whiskey calms down the pepper, it adds smoothness and sweetness to it, which makes it a fantastic addition to your steaks and salmon. A gentle and delicate peppery feel and a distinctive and outstanding whiskey flavor make Whiskey pepper so unique.

How to use Whiskey pepper?

We recommend Whiskey pepper to more experienced chefs and gourmets as it may be challenging to suit many dishes due to its distinctive flavor. However, anyone who dares to experiment with Whiskey pepper is more than welcome to do so (we even added a delicious steak recipe to the end of this post). This pepper enhances the flavors of your steak, salmon, and chicken with a blend of pepper, spices, and whiskey.

Use Whiskey pepper to turn a prime rib into a restaurant-quality meal at home! We also recommend combining Whiskey pepper’s fresh taste with carpaccio and delectable roast venison.

Grind or mortar the Whiskey pepper just before the meal is ready to be seasoned; this way, you can be sure that the flavor and aroma are as fresh and vital as possible.
